Altitude is perhaps the closest thing we’ve achieve to his legendary grandsire, MMR Marcoyo. Marcoyo was one of a kind in the early 2000’s, siring many Supremes and Champions (including Futurity Champion, AOBA National Reserve Champion, and Judge’s Choice Qolmesa Peruvian Crystal). When we had the opportunity to buy a share in this beautiful male, we couldn’t refuse. Altitude as his grandson embodies several of Marcoyo’s great qualities giving him the potential to carry his legacy. Altitude inherited Marcoyo’s impressive frame, poised to develop into a massive and solid male. With the same highly defined crimp style, staple length, and impressive density, he is full of rolling skin on his neck. Combined with a pleasing fineness and handle, his bright fleece stands, so far, as one of my favourites within the 2023 cria crop. His *other* grandsire – on his paternal side – is even more special! Red Granites Val D’Lsère stands has one of the leading herdsires in the North American industry, which adds another great dimension to Altitude’s genetic makeup.
