Genetic testing for Kodiak indicates that his color genotype is: Ee a1a3 which means that he carries one dilution gene and both alleles are black. Having an a3 allele has proven consistently to produce that rich blue-black in our herd. It is being passed through multiple generations and they are non-fading true blacks (not brown on the outside). Kodiak can produce light-colored offspring depending on the color genotype of the dam. Typically, Kodiak produces black when bred to females who have black behind them or are black. Kodiak is producing beautiful grey cria. In 2022, Kodiak's offspring continue to stand at the top of their classes. In 2020, one of Kodiak's female offspring took home several Color Championships, Reserve Championships, and a Judge's Choice Award from Amanda VandenBosch. Kodiak's crias continue taking Color Champion after Color Champion. His yearling TB female took a Reserve Color Champion at Nationals, his juvenile TB female took a Color Champion at Buckeye, and his medium fawn male took a blue at Nationals and a Color Champion at the Wisconsin show. Another Kody female took a Reserve Color Champion at the 2017 Futurity, and another fawn female took home a Color Champion as a juvenile in 2017. These amazing offspring are being noticed around the globe. Several have been exported to other countries. The 2015 show season began with Kodiak cria taking home Color Champion and Reserve Color Champion. To top it off, Kodiak won first for Get of Sire, and Lisa took a blue in Breeder's Best of Three with three Kodiak TB female cria! Add to that, Kodiak showed as an almost six-year-old and won Color Champion as well as a blue! Amanda loved his staple, fineness, uniformity, density, conformation, and true black color! At 5 years of age, Kodiak took two blues and a Reserve Color Champion! Peter loved this solid macho male, his square frame, teddy bear head, amazingly fine, uniform, and dense fleece. Kristin Burhmann confirmed! This is an incredible male! Kodiak comes from a long line of champions who produce champions. His sire is CPeruvian Axion Jaxon. Kodiak's dam is AVC 20th Century Fox, who is sired by 6Peruvian Accoyo Titan. She also carries Accoyo Camilio behind her. Not only is Kodiak genetically packed, but he also has perfect conformation. Kodiak is a compact male with a large straight bone structure. His bite is perfect, and if you look at his photos you can he is gorgeous. He has personality plus! He commands an audience wherever he is. As for his fiber, it is not often you come across a true black with no white fibers. Kodiak is solid black with uncompromising fineness, density, and uniformity of micron and crimp.

Darby showed as a dark fawn her first year and light brown her second year. She has some of the best midwest genetics out there through Avalon Farms (Michigan) and Hobby Horse Farms and our own competitive program that includes Darby's sire JJA Adonis' Dozer. Adonis was a multi-champion who would put soft, long, dense fiber on his offspring with usually the dams color or darker and his great mellow personality. Oh, his HUGE bone as well. Dozer took on more of his dam's elegant structure which she got from her sire the legendary Legacy. She was a 7-time champion. Darby took all high ribbons except in one show a 4th, the same year she was a 1st placer at Nationals in Halter. She produces the studs color or if bred to a stud that does the darkest genetic she puts out medium brown like her maternal grandsire Winchester of Hobby Horse farms. 2019 : Darby DID have a true black female from her breeding with Kodiak on August 14th. We have named her Kodiak's Nikoal since she is Coal black. Darby is a fantastic mom. Nikoal sold even though we didn't want to part with her as we love her black fleece. 2021:Darby had a medium brown male with spectacular confirmation, super dense fiber and extremely nice bundled fiber with great crip. He's sire is Accoyo Impeccable who does the dam's darkest genetics. Ignite took a 2nd behind the RC and then a 4th with only negative comment of him needing to grow more as the youngest in the class. Killed us not to show him in 2023 as Ignite has beautiful to look at fiber but it is very tender from being ill this fall. I'm keeping her white male from 2022! June 10th 2025, Darby had a textbook birth of a dark brown female. Darker points so will be checking to see if she colors up as usually. I'm expecting a bay black. This little one has been named JJA Preacher's Presley and she is doing great. Gaining very well. Stick straight conformation.
